TLC STATISTICS DECISION TREE
What It Is
Built by Dr. Amie Gordon, The Love Consortium Statistics Decision Tree is a choose-your-own-adventure-style guide to help you identify the best analyses for your specific dataset and research question. As you answer a series of prompts, the tree will branch in different directions, leading you through analytical recommendations tailored to your data.
Why We Built It
Working with data on social connection , whether from TLC’s Dataverse or from your own lab, often involves complex datasets. Over the years, TLC community members have expressed a common challenge: they sometimes feel uncertain as they are getting started with their statistical analyses and wish they had greater statistics support. We hear you, and we’re thrilled to share this effort toward meeting that need.
Built to Grow
Like any tree, this one is designed to grow over time. While it currently focuses on the analyses most commonly used by our community, we welcome your ideas for expanding and improving it. At the end of the tree, you'll have a chance to share your feedback: What else would you like to see? Where might we improve the tree going forward? Did you run into any issues, technical or otherwise, while using the tool? Your input will help shape future updates.
We are so grateful to Dr. Amie Gordon for her tireless work in developing this resource and to the community members who offered their feedback during the pilot phase. We hope you will find this to be a useful tool in your analytic toolkit.
